Miami Live Session Lab

The Sound of Miami. The Future Behind It.

Miami Live Session Lab is a fully sponsored artist-development and creative workforce initiative connecting an exceptional emerging Miami-Dade band with production students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals through the creation of an industry-standard live session.

A Professional Studio-Based Learning Experience

Presented by Realm26 Foundation, the initiative transforms the production of a professional live performance into an immersive educational experience. One emerging Miami-Dade band will be selected to receive comprehensive production support, including studio access, audio recording and engineering, cinematic filming, lighting, creative direction, mixing, editing, post-production, and digital release. All services will be fully underwritten for the selected artist.

Alongside the production, a carefully selected cohort of Miami-Dade students, recent graduates, and emerging professionals in audio engineering, music production, film, video, and digital media will gain direct exposure to the complete live-session process. Working alongside Realm26’s production team, participants will observe professional workflows, rotate through key production areas, engage with experienced creative practitioners, and develop a deeper understanding of how audio, visual media, artist development, and digital distribution come together.

Areas of Professional Practice

The educational experience will encompass:

  • Artist preparation and pre-production planning;

  • Studio workflow and session management;

  • Microphone selection, placement, and signal flow;

  • Multitrack audio recording and live-session engineering;

  • Lighting design and visual composition;

  • Camera placement and multicamera production;

  • Creative direction and production coordination;

  • Audio mixing, video editing, and post-production; and

  • Professional credits, music rights, and digital distribution.

Advancing an Emerging Miami Artist

The selected Miami-Dade band will receive:

  • Access to Realm26’s professional recording environment;

  • Audio recording, engineering, and mixing;

  • Cinematic multicamera video production;

  • Lighting and creative direction;

  • Editing and post-production;

  • Artist-ready performance and promotional assets; and

  • Strategic exposure through Realm26’s digital platforms and international audience.

The completed session will provide the artist with a professional body of work that can support future opportunities with audiences, venues, media, festivals, collaborators, and industry professionals.

Selected Realm26 Live Sessions Featuring Emerging Miami-Based Artists

The following sessions feature emerging Miami-based artists previously recorded and filmed by Realm26. These productions demonstrate Realm26’s multidisciplinary approach to live recording, audio engineering, cinematic filmmaking, creative direction, and professional artist presentation. Each session is created to preserve the artist’s individual identity while providing a high-quality performance asset that can strengthen their portfolio, expand their visibility, and support future opportunities with audiences, media, venues, festivals, cultural institutions, and music-industry professionals. Miami Live Session Lab will extend this same standard of production and artist-centered support to another emerging Miami-Dade band while opening the creative process to a selected cohort of aspiring audio, film, music-production, and media professionals.

Century Park West — “Hold Me”

Riggs & Company — “WTLA”

Emerging Miami-based group Riggs & Company blends alternative hip-hop, contemporary vocals, and live instrumentation in a distinctive session showcasing Realm26’s cross-genre production capabilities and artist-centered creative direction.

Miami-based progressive and alternative-rock band Tongue Tied delivers a performance shaped by shifting dynamics, emotional intensity, and powerful ensemble work, illustrating Realm26’s ability to preserve the immediacy of a live band while achieving professional audio and visual quality.

Preparing the Next Generation of Creative Professionals

Miami Live Session Lab pilot is designed for students, recent graduates, and early-career creatives who need meaningful exposure to professional production environments. Participants will gain practical knowledge that complements academic or technical training while developing professional relationships, understanding industry expectations, and identifying potential pathways across audio production, film, media, artist services, and digital content. Participants who contribute directly to the production will receive appropriate professional credit, helping them strengthen their portfolios and document relevant industry experience.

Public and Cultural Benefit

Miami Live Session Lab will create value well beyond the studio. The completed performance will be released as publicly accessible cultural programming, amplifying original music from Miami and giving audiences locally and internationally an opportunity to discover the city’s independent creative community. A companion behind-the-scenes educational feature will document the production process and share selected insights for aspiring artists and production professionals unable to participate in person. Together, these resources will create a lasting public record of Miami’s contemporary music culture while expanding access to practical creative-industry knowledge.

The initiative will:

  • Elevate an emerging Miami-Dade artist through professional production and visibility;

  • Provide applied industry learning to 8–12 aspiring creative professionals;

  • Generate meaningful professional credits and portfolio experience;

  • Support the work of local audio, video, and production practitioners;

  • Produce original cultural content centered on Miami’s music community;

  • Preserve the completed performance as a publicly accessible digital resource; and

  • Strengthen connections among artists, students, educators, and working professionals.

A Scalable Model for Continued Access

Miami Live Session Lab is envisioned as a pilot for a potential monthly artist-development and creative workforce series. Following the inaugural session, Realm26 Foundation will assess participant engagement, educational outcomes, artist impact, production quality, audience reach, and feedback from the featured artist and professional learning cohort.

If the pilot demonstrates strong results and sustained sponsorship is secured, Realm26 intends to present one Live Session Lab each month. Every edition would support a different emerging artist while providing a new cohort of students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals with applied industry experience. Over time, the series would create a growing public archive of contemporary music, expand professional pathways across audio and visual production, compensate skilled creative practitioners, and provide consistent visibility for emerging artists. This phased approach will allow Realm26 to build the initiative responsibly, document its effectiveness, and develop a sustainable model for long-term cultural and workforce impact.
