Dr. Marcela Moyano is a Board Director of Realm26 Foundation and a communications scholar, documentary filmmaker, professor, and higher-education leader with more than two decades of experience across media, education, storytelling, and community engagement.

She serves as Director of Communications and Advancement and Professor at United International College, where she leads institutional communications, marketing, media relations, partnership development, and public-engagement initiatives while teaching courses in communications and mass media. Dr. Moyano holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas University, a master’s degree in Communication Arts with a specialization in Public Relations from Barry University, and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from St. Thomas University.

Her academic and creative work explores the power of documentary filmmaking, digital media, and storytelling to promote education, cultural understanding, and social change. She co-produced and directed the award-winning documentary Blooming Hope: Harvesting Smiles in Port-de-Paix and has contributed to additional documentary and media projects addressing community and social issues. Her research has also informed participatory documentary and learning models designed to engage communities directly in the creation of meaningful media.

Throughout her career, Dr. Moyano has combined educational leadership, strategic communications, and media production to strengthen institutions and create opportunities for students and communities. At Realm26 Foundation, she provides strategic guidance in communications, media education, community partnerships, public engagement, and mission-driven storytelling, helping ensure that the Foundation’s programs are accessible, educational, culturally meaningful, and responsive to the communities they serve.
