Orlas
Orlas is the father-and-son collaboration of Brazilian musicians Victor Chicri and Vic Delnur, a project where generations and musical languages meet. Drawing from samba-jazz, bossa nova, disco-funk, and the broader lineage of Brazilian popular music, their sound feels rooted in tradition without treating it as something fixed—warm, sophisticated, and unmistakably driven by groove. Live at Realm26, “No Escuro” captures that balance beautifully. Piano, rhythm, harmony, and understated improvisation move together with an ease that feels conversational, allowing the song to unfold without unnecessary ornament. Recorded as part of a five-song Realm26 session, the performance offers a glimpse into Orlas’ particular musical world: Brazilian at its core, expansive in its influences, and shaped by the connection between two generations of musicians.
